Menu path: Status > Services.
The general format and usage of this page is discussed
in General GUI Usage.
Services are daemon applications that run on the A3's operating system and provide
vital functions for authentication and maintenance. Two major categories are
shown:
-
Protected Services - these
services cannot be changed, as demonstrated by the locked Running icon (
).
-
Manageable Services -
these services can be managed all at once or one at a time:
- The Stop All button
(
) will
stop all services in the manageable category.
- The Start All button
(
) will
start all enabled services in the manageable category.
- The Restart All
button (
) will
restart all enabled services in the manageable category.
Three columns are presented in the services displays:
-
Service - the name of the
service. A small green warning sign (
) indicates that the
service is not needed for the current A3 configuration.
-
Enabled - controls whether
the current service is Enabled or Disabled. Stopped services must be Enabled before being
started.
-
Running - indicates
whether the service is Running or Stopped. A service may be restarted by moving the slider to
stopped (
) and then to
running (
).
-
PID - the internal Linux
process ID for the service.
Use of any of the buttons in the page will render A3 unresponsive while the
operation is completed.

Note
When
advised to restart any
A3 service, the administrative
interface for
each cluster
member must be used individually to perform the operation. Perform the operation on
each member one at a time, waiting for the service(s) to completely
restart.
