Kerberos

Menu path: Configuration > Policies and Access Control > Authentication Sources > Internal > Kerberos.

This form of authentication uses a Kerberos server. A Kerberos server is embedded within the A3 server and can be referenced with an IP address of 127.0.0.1. A list of users can be maintained in the Users top level menu option. The fields in a Kerberos authentication source definition are:

Field Name Usage Example
Name The name of the authentication source. Kerberos auth
Description Optional description of the source. Corporate Kerberos authentication
Host The host name or IP address of the Kerberos server. 127.0.0.1 can be used to reference the A3 embedded server. This might require the use of A3's CLI, which is beyond the scope of this help system. 127.0.0.1
Realm to Use to Authenticate The realm used to authenticate users. E.g. am-tme.com. example.com
Associated Realms If specified, the realms associated with the Kerberos authentication source. Realms are discussed in Domains and Realms. User names that specify the name of the realm cause the Kerberos server specified here to be used. example.com
Authentication Rules Indicates when the authentication is triggered and the actions to be performed when the authentication is satisfied. Authentication rules are covered in detail in Authentication Rules.  
Administration Rules Indicates the administrative actions to be performed when the authentication is satisfied. Administration rules are covered in detail in Administration Rules.
