RADIUS

Menu path: Configuration > Policies and Access Control > Authentication Sources > Internal > RADIUS.

This form of authentication uses a RADIUS server other than the FreeRADIUS server embedded in A3. The RADIUS server can then be used in a REALM definition in Domains and Realms. The fields in a RADIUS authentication source definition are:

Field Name Usage Example
Name The name of the authentication source. RADIUS auth
Description Optional description of the source. Corporate RADIUS authentication
Host The host name or IP address of the RADIUS server. 10.150.1.14
Port The port used to talk to the RADIUS server. 1812 is the standard port. 1812
Shared Secret The shared secret used to communicate with the RADIUS server. password
Timeout The timeout, in seconds, for a response from the RADIUS server. 1
Monitor If enabled, A3 will ping the RADIUS server to check for connectivity and availability. slider on icon
Options Options for the FreeRADIUS home server, if it was defined in a Realm in Domains and Realms. type = auth+acct
Associated Realms If specified, the realms associated with the RADIUS authentication source. Realms are discussed in Domains and Realms. User names that specify the name of the realm cause the RADIUS server specified here to be used. ah-tme.com
Authentication Rules Indicates when the authentication is triggered and the actions to be performed when the authentication is satisfied. Authentication rules are covered in detail in Authentication Rules.  
Administration Rules Indicates the administrative actions to be performed when the authentication is satisfied. Administration rules are covered in detail in Administration Rules.

A restart of the radiusd service is required if the Options field is changed. Use Status > Services.

When advised to restart any A3 service, the administrative interface for each cluster member must be used individually to perform the operation. Perform the operation on each member one at a time, waiting for the service(s) to completely restart.
