Capture Tools

The following capture tools are available:

• Tcpdump
• RADIUS Debug

Tcpdump is the industry standard packet capture tool. The options enables selection of interface, source, and destination MAC and IP address, Ethernet type, protocol, and port range. Enter the Run Time and maximum File Size and then press the START button to start the tool, and STOP to end the operation. The resulting file can be downloaded via the Download button and displayed with Wireshark or similar tool. Press DONE to start a new dump.

Two tabs are used with this tool:

• Download Log - this option collects and downloads a log of RADIUS messages for the period described in Timeout. The log can be viewed in the Log Viewer tab or using another utility.
• Log Viewer - this option is a real-time view of the RADIUS log.

Both options enable filtering based on User Name, Client MAC address or NAS IP Address. Enter parameters and then press the START button to start the tool, and STOP to end the operation. The resulting file can be downloaded via the Download button. Press DONE to start a new dump.
