Maintenance

Menu path: Configuration > System Configuration> Main Configuration > Maintenance.

This page controls the various maintenance tasks that operate on the A3. These advanced settings should only be used under the direction of the support organization.

The general format and usage of this page is discussed in General GUI Usage.

Each task can be enabled or disabled. Advanced settings can be edited by selecting the task's row.

The tasks and settings are:

Task Description Settings
acct_cleanup Controls the cleanup of the accounting tables (raddact and radacct_log).
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
  • Batch - # of items processed in each batch of this task
  • Timeout - maximum amount of time the task can run
  • Window - how far back in time entries will be considered
acct_maintenance Controls the inline accounting maintenance, i.e. bandwidth checks.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
auth_log_cleanup Controls the cleanup of the auth_log table. Entries older than the window will be removed from the table.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
  • Delay - the amount of time before a certificate will expire
  • Certificates - a comma-separated list of certificates to monitor
certificates_check Controls the check for SSL certificate validity.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
  • Batch - # of items processed in each batch of this task
  • Timeout - maximum amount of time the task can run
  • Window - how far back in time entries will be considered
cleanup_chi_database_cache Controls the cleanup of the CHI cache database storage.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
  • Batch - # of items processed in each batch of this task
  • Timeout - maximum amount of time the task can run
cluster_check Checks the health state of the cluster and attempts to resolve any detected conflicts.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
fingerbank_data_update Updates the local Fingerbank data from the cloud API.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
inline_accounting_maintenance Controls the inline accounting maintenance, i.e. bandwidth checks.

  • Interval - time between runs
ip4log_cleanup Controls the cleanup and rotation of IP entries in IPv4 tables.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
  • Batch - # of items processed in each batch of this task
  • Timeout - maximum amount of time the task can run
  • Window - how far back in time entries will be considered
  • Rotate - if enabled ip4log rotation will move ip4log_history records to ip4log_archive. If disabled, will delete from the ip4log_history table.
  • Rotate batch - # of items rotated in each batch of this task
  • Rotate timeout - maximum amount of time the rotation can run
  • Window - how far back in time entries will be considered for rotation
ip6log_cleanup Controls the cleanup and rotation of IP entries in IPv4 tables.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
  • Batch - # of items processed in each batch of this task
  • Timeout - maximum amount of time the task can run
  • Window - how far back in time entries will be considered
  • Rotate - if enabled ip6log rotation will move ip6log_history records to ip6log_archive. If disabled, will delete from the ip6log_history table.
  • Rotate batch - # of items rotated in each batch of this task
  • Rotate timeout - maximum amount of time the rotation can run
  • Window - how far back in time entries will be considered for rotation
locationlog_cleanup Controls the cleanup of the locationlog table. Entries older than the window will be removed from the table.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
  • Batch - # of items processed in each batch of this task
  • Timeout - maximum amount of time the task can run
  • Window - how far back in time entries will be considered
node_cleanup Controls the actions made on inactive clients based on the last_seen attribute of the client.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
  • Unreg window - how long a registered client can be inactive before it is unregistered
  • Delete window - how long an unregistered client can be inactive before being deleted. Should not be used in conjunction with port security.
nodes_maintenance Unregisters clients that have an unregistration date older than the current date and time.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
option82_query Queries compatible switches for DHCP Option 82 switch MAC address.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
password_of_the_day Controls the generation of new password for the day.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
person_cleanup Deletes users that do not own any device. Locally created users will only be deleted when their account expires.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
populate_ntlm_redis_cache Controls the population of the Active Directory NTLM cache.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
provisioning_compliance_poll Controls polling enforcement on the provisioners.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
radius_audit_log_cleanup Controls the cleanup of the radius_audit_log table. Entries older than the window will be removed from the table.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
  • Batch - # of items processed in each batch of this task
  • Timeout - maximum amount of time the task can run
  • Window - how far back in time entries will be considered
queue_stats Controls the polling of pfqueue's stats (queue counts).
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
security_event_maintenance Controls the execution of delayed security event.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
  • Batch - # of items processed in each batch of this task
  • Timeout - maximum amount of time the task can run
switch_cache_lldpLocalPort_description Cache switch's LLDP local port descriptions.
  • Enabled - on/off
  • Interval - time between runs
  • Process switch ranges - indicates whether or not switch ranges should be expanded to process each of its IPs

Note

When advised to restart any A3 service, the administrative interface for each cluster member must be used individually to perform the operation. Perform the operation on each member one at a time, waiting for the service(s) to completely restart.
