Generate API Access Tokens

Use this task to generate API access tokens that applications use to make REST API calls to ExtremeCloud IQ. For more information about API Tokens, see Manage API Access Tokens.

The API tokens created here are only used with the legacy v1 API. For information on using the current v2 API, see ExtremeCloud IQ API and ExtremeCloud IQ API Reference.
  1. Mouse over Account, and then select Global Settings.
  2. From the API menu, select API Token Management.
  3. Select Add.
  4. Enter a valid Client ID.

    The client ID is the Credentials value from My Profile > Your API Developer Application in the Extreme Networks Developer Portal. This step connects the token you generate with your developer account.

  5. Select an Expiration Setting for the access token:
    • Expires in 30 days
    • Time from enrollment

      Enter the number of days, months, or years, after which the access token expires.

    • Date

      Use the calendar control to select a specific date for the access token expiration.

  6. Select GENERATE.
