Note
Ensure that devices onboarded in ExtremeCloud IQ are in their default state before configuring them for the first time using ExtremeCloud IQ. Uploading configuration in ExtremeCloud IQ to devices that have been previously configured outside ExtremeCloud IQ might result in default settings being applied to the devices. If you want to manage a previously configured device within ExtremeCloud IQ, make sure that the device configuration in ExtremeCloud IQ matches the actual device configuration before uploading a configuration for the first time.Select the devices to which you want to upload the network policy on the Apply the network policy to selected devices window as described in Deploy a Network Policy. You can use the filter feature to list only specific network policies and so on using the section on the left part of the screen. When you are done, select Upload.
In Device Update, select the type of update (delta, complete, or none), whether to update IQ Engine and Extreme Networks switch images, and the activation times for the updated devices, all of which you can optionally Save as Defaults.
Note
Select the Enable Distributed Image Upgrade check box when WAN speed and traffic usage are concerns. By selecting this option, when ExtremeCloud IQ updates the IQ Engine firmware for multiple same-model APs, it can send the first upgrade to one device and allow the other devices using the same firmware to get their image from that first updated (seed) device.Select Perform Update.
ExtremeCloud IQ pushes all configuration uploads as complete uploads. This requires devices to reboot and activate the new configurations. In the Device Update dialog box, select one of the following:
