About Application Sets

Along with predefined sets of Layer 7 applications, ExtremeCloud IQ allows administrators to define sets of custom applications. An admin can choose to identify multiple sets of applications and feed them through an SD-WAN route group to support application-based routing policies (see Routing Policy).

In this window, verify the existing application sets, and create one or more custom application sets if required. These application sets are available as common objects for all SD-WAN routing policies.

View Application Sets

This window displays the existing application sets in the application sets table. The application sets table includes the following columns:

Add an Application Set

1. In the application sets table, select Add to display the Add Application Set window.
2. Name: Enter a name containing a maximum of 42 characters with no spaces.
3. Search By: Select Application or Category and then enter a character string for the application or category names you want to add. You will see your results in the Application Name and Category table.
4. In the Application Name and Category table, select the applications for your application set. They are added to the Selected Applications box. Delete applications in the Selected Applications box by deselecting them in the Application Name and Category table, or to delete all of them select clear all.
5. Add up to 32 applications for your new application set. When you are done, select Save.

Modify an Application Set

1. In the application sets table, select an application set to modify.
2. Select .
3. In the edit application set window, you can change the application set name.
4. You can use the Search By function: Select Application or Category, and then enter a character string for the application or category names you want to add or delete. The search results appear in the Application Name and Category table.
5. In the Application Name and Category table, select the applications for your application set. They are added to the Selected Applications box. Delete applications in the Selected Applications box by deselecting them in the Application Name and Category table, or to delete all of them select clear all.
6. Add up to 32 applications for your modified application set. When you are done, select Save.

Clone an Application Set

1. In the Application Sets table, select the application set to clone.
2. Select .
3. Enter a name for the new application set in the Save As field.
4. Select Cloneto save the new application set.

Delete a Custom Application Set

Note

Predefined application sets cannot be deleted.

1. In the Application Sets table, select one or more custom application sets to delete.
2. Select .
3. In the verification prompt, select Yes to delete the selected application sets.
