Presence Analytics
Enable Presence analytics and configure the Presence analytics settings for APs that belong to this network policy.
Navigate using the tab icons. Hover over an icon to see the name of the tab.
Configure > policy_name > Additional Settings > Policy Settings > Presence Analytics
You can enable presence analytics on all APs to which a network policy applies. First, set a name and description for the presence analytics instance, and then configure presence analytics for the APs in the network policy.
Note
Collecting the MAC addresses of passerby wireless clients violates the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). To help comply with the GDPR, disable presence analytics.Enable or disable presence analytics for the network policy by toggling the Enable Presence Analytics switch ON or OFF (OFF is the default).
Note
You can also enable or disable presence analytics for the network policy in the Network Policy Settings window. The following parameters specify how frequently APs send data to ExtremeCloud IQ. These parameters allow for adjustments to accommodate situations where devices are connected over slower links and where the data must be aggregated at different rates. It is not necessary to change the default values if devices are connected over faster links.
Trap Interval: (Also known as the reporting interval.) Set how often the presence sensorreports sensor data to ExtremeCloud IQ. Youcan enter an interval between 15 and 600 seconds (10 minutes) to accommodate slow WANconnections. Lowering this interval below 15 seconds pushes data faster but also increasesnetwork traffic. Raising this interval above 15 seconds pushes data at a slower rateand decreases network traffic. The default is 120 seconds.
Aging Time (between 15 and 600 seconds): Set the aging time of a given presence profile. The default is 120 seconds.
Aggregate Time(between 15 and 600 seconds): Set the interval number to which aggregation will be done for a given presence profile. The default is 120 seconds.
