IP Multicast config-lite for Fabric Connect
With IP Multicast config-lite for Fabric Connect you can configure Layer 3 IP Multicast routing over Fabric Connect using a Layer 2 edge node without associating an IP address on the VLAN. When you configure an MVPN I-SID on a VLAN, a dynamic VRF named l3vsn is created, and ipvpn is configured.
Note
ipvpn enable is not configured on this VRF.Configure ip spb-multicast enable on a VLAN interface without an IP address to avoid depleting the IP address pool of the network.
Note
Manually configuring Layer 3 VSNs is not available. You can convert a dynamic VRF to a static VRF by using typical VRF creation with the VRF name. For more information, see Create a VRF Instance.
Restrictions
The following list provides restrictions related to this feature:
- If a VRF with the same I-SID already exists on the device, the VLAN is associated with the existing VRF after you enter mvpn-isid on the VLAN.
- You cannot have an IP address and mvpn-isid configured on the same VLAN at the same time.
- Dynamic VRFs are not present in the running configuration and are not saved.
