Configuring the Application Group Policy
Use this task to configure an application group policy that defines how application traffic is classified and handled across the SD-WAN.
-
Go to Settings > Application Group Policy > View All.
The Application Groups list appears. -
Select the Application Group name and configure the following settings:
-
Name
-
Applications: Applications associated with the application group.
-
Business Criticality: Priority level assigned to the application traffic.
-
QoS Profile: Quality of Service (QoS) profile applied to the application traffic.
-
DWS Policy – Dynamic WAN Selection (DWS) applied to the application group.
-
WAN Optimization – Enables optimization features such as compression for the application traffic.
-
DSCP Coloring – Marks packets with a DSCP value for traffic prioritization when enabled.
-
DF-Bit Override – Overrides the DSCP value using the configured DF bit setting.
-
Site Filter – Restricts where the application group policy is applied. Configure Ingress and Egress sites to control where traffic enters or exits.
-
Warning: The position of Application Groups in the list determines packet classification. The system evaluates the list from top to bottom and classifies traffic using the first matching rule. The Other Application Group is always positioned at the bottom of the list.
To modify an Application Group, select the Application Group name and update the settings in Edit Application Group Policy. Refer to "Configuring Application Groups (AGs)".
