================================================================ REVISION NOTES FOR BAYRS VERSION 13.02 REVISION 1 ================================================================ Site Manager compatibility: BayRS version is managed by Site Manager version 13.02 Revision 1 --------------------> 7.02 Revision 1 13.02 Revision 1 is Year 2000 Compliance Certified by Bay Networks. It has successfully passed Bay Networks Test Procedure which tests conformance to Bay Networks Year 2000 compliance definition, both of which can be found at Bay Networks Year 2000 Web site at http://www.baynetworks.com/year2000/. ================================================================ 13.02 Revision 1 corrects the following problems: ================================================================ CR 33348: SW Serv Scheduling time of day (TOD) parameters for a demand circuit using NOT_AVAILABLE causes the demand circuit to not come up after the end time has passed. CR 33863: TI SAving the log automatically using the Technician Interface does not work on Volume 1. CR 33883: DSU/CSU Analog loop does not work on the ARN internal DSU/CSU. The circuit stays down and frames are not transmitted. CR 34386: OSPF OSPF is not generating a default summary route into a stub area to which it is directly attached. CR 35612: IP Memory leak occurs on all slots with BGP configured. CR 55832/98693: MIB Network management applications, such as Optivity Expanded View, do not display the 5380 Quad Sync and two compression net modules. CR 71256: MCE1 When moving a logical line from one slot to another one in dynamic mode, the IP circuit fails on a multichannel E1. CR 72142: OSI OSI adjacencies are not reestablished after an OSI point-to-point circuit bounces. CR 73835: ARE The ARE may fail to boot if a FRE-II processor with flash memory is busy. CR 75883: MCE1 The multichannel E1 interface is not fully compliant with MIB 2 RFC 1213. CR 79479: TI The show hardware script terminates abnormally if the router was booted with the Technician Interface configuration file (ti.cfg). CR 79920: MCE1 After loading the ASN and Munich drivers and setting the clocking to internal, the CPU use on the router went up to 40 to 50 percent. CR 80778: IPEX Gateway When the PVC/TCP server application is closed, you cannot restart the session after the application is brought back up. CR 83316: BGP Fault when changing BGP4 accept policy to add Route Flap Dampening. CR 83929: Flash When compacting or formatting a 40MB or larger flash card, the slot which is formatting stops forwarding traffic and reboots after completing compaction. In addition, frame relay circuits on that slot lose LMI and any connections through it are dropped. CR 83931: FTP When making an FTP brute force attack, a bus error occurs on the router. The software used to attack reports a buffer overflow problem. CR 85315: X.25 Placing a call with IPEX disabled on an ARN router does not generate a CLEAR CONFIRM, causing the X.25 pad to hang. CR 85509: DLSw Request for DLSw multislot broadcast for a MIB attribute to allow (default) or disallow the cross slot updating of peer associations. CR 88224: IP Bus errors in IP upon boot are causing loss of connectivity. CR 91568: IP IP faults when a well-known denial of service packet arrives. Only ISP Mode with enhanced traffic filters on the FRE2 is vulnerable. CR 92038: ATM Router faults with an MCP error upon receiving a LE_NARP request, which has the MAC address equal to the ARE MAC address. CR 93415: IP When you are changing attributes associated with ATM PVCs, an MCP error can occur on the ATM interface. CR 94541: OSI Enabling OSI on a router causes the router to immediately log the message "Starting L2/L1 decision process" every few seconds. CR 94618: IP IP connectivity lost when configuring Host-Only mode on a BLN FDDI Link Module. CR 94886: ATM Learning Bridge (LB) does not work across ATM hybrid PVCs. CR 95125: X.25 When full addressing is set to Off, the router cannot establish X.25 PDN calls. CR 95185: FDDI Faults occur in the FDDI driver when booting a BLN router with ATM configured. CR 96270: PPP Orphan buffers occur when transmitting SDLC I frames through DLS and PPP multilink processed in WCP. CR 96440: OSPF The router fails to build the SPF tree if the root LSDB is not inserted into router table. CR 96646: SRB Source Route Bridged spanning tree explorer frames are not received by the router over an ATM PVC. CR 96788: DLSw When making a network connection to an IBM host for DLSw transactions, some errors occur. CR 97093: IP Bus error on router with multiple IP configured slots. CR 97288: X.25 If the target circuit is disabled, a reset_request is not sent when a tcp_open call fails. CR 97842: X.25 If the value of the X.25 parameter Outgoing Call Accept is set to OFF (the default is ON) and if at least two X.25 service records have been defined over the X.25 line, a bus error occurs as soon as the router needs to place an outgoing call. CR 98211: XB When the wfBrTp MIB attribute is disabled and a router translation bridge interface receives an ARE while the RIF (routing information field) entry is still cached, a fault occurs. CR 98424: DLSw Deleting the last DLSw interface on a slot using the BCC causes a system error. CR 98691: SWSERV The schedule function is not working correctly during NOT_AVAILABLE period. CR 98693/55832: MIB Network management applications, such as Optivity Expanded View, do not display the 5380 Quad Sync and two compression net modules. CR 98719: IP When a FDDI connection is faulted, RIP1 will not advertise the network as being unreachable before removing it. CR 98938: OSPF When you summarize a network of 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 in a backbone area going to all other areas, the router sends out a link state database (LSDB) message that says that this database has a timer of 3600 (unreachable) so it is never put in the LSDB. CR 98902: ATM When the MIB is being queried for certain objects when the atmizer is coming up (for example, after a dynamic reconfiguration) the MIB Manager will time out. CR 98930: SDLC Disabling or deleting multiple devices from an SDLC--multidrop of a primary frame relay access device (FRAD) occasionally causes the secondary FRAD to fault. CR 99148: IP Static route preferences do not work over properly unnumbered circuits on router when there is an unnumbered interface on one side of a PPP interface and a numbered one on the other side. CR 99295: PPP The router will fault after IPCP negotiations. CR 99607: ATM When an outage occurs that brings down the ATM interface, it never comes back up without physically pulling the fiber connection. CR 99870: BGP Forwarding 56k routes to another BGP speaker takes about 17 minutes. CR 99887: IP The forwarding cache of an IP interface gets corrupted when it switches from a more specific route to a less specific route. CR 99914: BGP BGP learned routes not propagated into OSPF domain. CR 100000: ATM Sending large packets through an ATM PVC that is over utilized and clipping frames on transmit causes VBM panics. CR 100208: Telnet Arrow keys do not work when you Telnet to the router and then run Telnet client to another device. CR 100352: FR Frame relay PVC status not correctly reflected in the wfIfEntry MIB and consequently the ifEntry instance. CR 100377: ATM When creating or deleting virtual circuits on a BCN router, a MCP (Master Control Processor) error occurs on the ATM interface, and communication between routers is lost. CR 100556: ATM Router does not respond or challenge an LE_NARP request for its interface MAC address. CR 100791: BGP When a BCN router has an external peer supplying multi exit discriminator (MED) to it and the router is configured to be a route reflector (RR) internal to another peer, and there is no policy to advertise MEDs to that internal peer, the router takes a long time to download all the routes to that peer. CR 100914: X.25 When TCP is in a closed state, the MIB for IPEX Session Local TCP Port does not get reset and displays an incorrect value. CR 101058: ATM When deleting the connection port to a FORE switch on the router, a tag violation occurs. CR 101124: ATM Using the BCC to delete a Multi-Protocol Over ATM (MPOA) service generates MCP errors. CR 101125: ATM The ATM interface remains in the initial state when the link between the Bay Networks BCN router and FORE switch is repeatedly broken. CR 102020: BOT If the serial link is operating at 2400 baud and the router adds synchronous characters between the two bytes of BCC error checking frames, the end device miscalculates the BCC causing a negative acknowledgment (NAK). CR 102070: XB Duplicated frames are transmitted after the LB (Learning Bridge) is started globally or on an interface. CR 102109: X.25 If several packets are received by a router simultaneously and they are all destined for the same remote X.25 PDN site, extra VCs are created. The extra VCs do not come up, which can result in data loss. CR 102114: ATM When adding ATM service records and or PVCs while passing traffic, the ATM interface experiences a MCP (Master Control Processor) error. CR 102122: ATM A VBM (virtual buffer memory) error may occur on the ATM interface under a heavy traffic load. CR 102424: SYNC The ARN router may hang after establishing a V.34 asynchronous dialup connection. CR 102626: ARP A LAN interface receiving ARP traffic in a switched environment causing a 30% to 50% load on the router CPU can result in extra memory buffer depletion. CR 102776: SWSERV Dial backup line connection is not going down after the primary frame relay line recovers its connection on the router. CR 102209: X.25 The slot on BCN faults and resets during multiple connections and tear downs. During multiple X.25 connection calls and disconnects, the router may fault. CR 102809: Data Path Cannot multiline more than three X.25 PDN VCs at a time. CR 102835: IP Sending large packets that result in fragmentation of the ping packet causes a bus error on the router. CR 103371: ATM All of the LECs do not recover when the link between the FORE switches is broken. CR 103656: BCC Sourcing the diff file using the BCC host tools on the router generates the following error message, "attempt to add duplicate list entry." CR 104168: ATM ATM Interface does not recover after the port on the FORE switch is deleted and later readded in a configuration with multiple LECs are configured to join multiple ELANs on the FORE switch. CR 104246: ATM The LE_ARP entry in the wfAtmLeArpEntry may point to a non-existent or released VC entry in the wfAtmVclConfEntry due to a timing issue. CR 105235: X.25 Bouncing Logical Line Entry between X.25 and IPEX may result in some connections not recovering. CR 105523: ATM The router generates an exception Vector 3 machine check (MCP) fault during an ATM test. CR 105577: Data Path Toggling a primary circuit and a backup circuit causes an Exception Vector 2 bus error. CR 106453: IPX Virtual Network Router (VNR) 5782 configured for IPX stops transmitting timed RIP updates. |
