================================================================================

DIT PACKAGE SUMMARY:
================================================================================

This document contains installation instructions, supported device list with
management feature information and known limitations for Device Integration
Toolkit (DIT) package of Secure Router 1002 series. This package adds support
for Secure Router 1002 series running version 8.4.2 software into Optivity
Network Management System (rebranded ENMS). These DIT installation instructions

CHANGE HISTORY:
================================================================================
03/16/2005 - Created initial "A" version DIT package.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
================================================================================

The default install location for Optivity NMS (rebranded ENMS) DIT packages is:
Unix ($OITHOME):				/usr/oit for ONMS
                    OR  /usr/dit for ENMS
Windows 2000/2003 (%OITHOME%): 		 <DRIVE_LETTER>:\Optivity\oit  for ONMS
                                OR <DRIVE_LETTER>:\enms\dit  for ENMS

All installation commands are relative to the directory containing the extracted
(un-tarred or un-zipped) DIT package. The following commands should be executed
in that directory.

Manual installation on UNIX
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Log into Optivity NMS (Enterprise NMS) workstation as root (su command).

2. Open a shell window and prepare your user environment with one of
   the following commands:
       source /opt/lnms/bin/opt_cshrc (for csh and tcsh)
    OR
       . /opt/lnms/bin/opt_kshrc (for sh or ksh)

3. Create a temporary directory for the DIT package.
     For example: mkdir /temp

4. Navigate to the directory you just created and download/copy DIT package
   to this location. Uncompress and untar the package using

	uncompress NMS_sr1002_v842_A.tar.Z
	tar -xvf NMS_sr1002_v842_A.tar

5. At the command prompt, type
	./install

   The installation script runs and copies various files (*.gif, *.mdb,
   *.dat, etc.) into the appropriate directories. Finally, the oitInstall
   (ditInstall in ENMS) utility is run to add Secure Router 1002 series
   support into Optivity NMS (rebranded Enterprise NMS).

Manual installation on Windows
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. On your workstation, log in as administrator

2. Download and Copy the DIT package (a self-extracting archive) into
      <Drive>:\Optivity\oit (for ONMS)
   OR <Drive>:\enms\dit (for ENMS)

3. Execute the DIT package file so that all the files in the package are
   extracted. The files are extracted in the directory
      <Drive>:\Optivity\oit\temp\NMS_sr1002_v842_A (for ONMS)
   OR <Drive>:\enms\dit\temp\NMS_sr1002_v842_A (for ENMS)

4. Open a command window.

5. Navigate to the directory that was created
      ( <Drive>:\Optivity\oit\temp\NMS_sr1002_v842_A ) (for ONMS)
   OR ( <Drive>:\enms\dit\temp\NMS_sr1002_v842_A ) (for ENMS)

6. At the command prompt type
	.\install.bat

   The installation script runs and copies various files (*.gif, *.mdb,
   *.dat, etc.) into the appropriate directories. Finally, the oitInstall
   (ditInstall in ENMS) utility is run to add Secure Router 1002 series support
   into Optivity NMS (Enterprise NMS).

Automated install using OITAdmin/DITAdmin Tool on both UNIX and Windows
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Run oitadmin tool (ditadmin in ENMS) (packaged with NMS), at the command
   prompt by typing (on Unix and Windows)
	    oitadmin (for ONMS)
	 OR ditadmin (for ENMS)

2. Download the DIT package and make sure that the package is located at:
	    <Drive>:\Optivity\oit (on Windows with ONMS)
	 OR <Drive>:\enms\dit (on Windows with ENMS)
   OR	/opt/oit (on UNIX with ONMS)
   OR /opt/dit (on UNIX with ENMS)

3. Select Tools->Install Component... menuitem.

4. In the Open dialog box, select the package and click on OK.

5. Another dialog box should come up showing the progress of the DIT install.
   Select OK once DIT install is completed.

Installation Results:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After successful installation an entry corresponding to Secure Router 1002 and
Secure Router 1002E v8.4.2 will be displayed in the OITAdmin Tool (DITAdmin Tool
in ENMS) main window.

SUPPORTED OPERATING SYSTEMS:
================================================================================

	HPUX 11.0
	Solaris 2.8
	Solaris 2.9
	Windows 2000
  Windows 2003 Server

KNOWN LIMITATIONS:
================================================================================
CR Q01337171 - Duplicate entry in Infocenter for SR1000/3120.
               When management IP address is higher than other configured IP
               addresses, Infocenter displays multiple instances of the same
               device (identical rows with same populated columns). This issue
               occurs only on Solaris platform.
CR Q01202115 - Rediscovery doesn't work on ONMS 10.3.3
CR Q01336120 - Some OV panes don't update when data is cleared (IP Routing ->
               BGP -> General pane)
CR Q01336129 - DIV: Empty columns for SR 1000 series and SR 3120
               Serial No and HW Rev columns are empty for SR 1000 series and
               SR 3120.
               In the Module Information window most of the columns are empty
               (Serial No, HW Rev, Descr, Sys OID).
CR Q01331475 - Auto Trap Registration for SR1000 series and SR 3120
CR Q01331446 - Syslog Registration for SR1000 series and SR 3120
CR Q01331451 - Platform files are copied read-only at ENMS install.
               If you are using Netview and you want this device to be also
               supported in that management system you must remove the read-only
               attribute for the following files before installing the DIT
               package:
               Drive_letter:\usr\ov\fields\c\baynetworks.fields
               Drive_letter:\usr\ov\symbols\c\baynetworks.symbols
CR Q01340351 - Two traps don't correlate well for SR 1000 series and SR 3120
               The clear trap "T_bundleUpTrap_v1" doesn't clear the the previous
               fault (generated by T_bundleUpTrap_v1)and a new fault is created.
               The same problem appears for the trap T_linkUpTrap_v1.
