Site Manager Revision 3.00/Revision 1
Site Manager Revision 3.00/Revision 1 is a post 3.00 revision. This version
is backwards compatible and supports the following router versions:
9.00
8.10
8.01
7.80
7.71
Note: When running revisions of router software in conjunction with a fix version of Site Manager, be aware that there may be new MIB attributes
that were added in a router revision that are not supported in a Site Manager revision. Refer to the revision notes for both Site Manager and router software.
3.00 Revision 1 corrects the following problems:
=============================================================================
CR 18680: Image Builder.
If you open a BN.exe image using Image Builder in Site
Manager and you save the BN.exe image without removing any
components, the new image loses the file lapb.exe.
CR 18125: ATM.
You cannot add a circuit to an ATM interface with a VCI
number less than 33.
CR 15652: E1.
When you attempt to configure a Dual Port E1 while running Router
Software Version 8.01 and Site Manager Version 2.10, the Mini Dacs
are rendered unconfigurable.
CR 17124: Configuration.
When installing a new version of Site Manager over an existing
version, the Site Manager software does not prompt you to abort the
operation, change the desired location, or continue with the
installation. A QUIT or CONTINUE prompt must be added to enable
users to install the new version of Site Manager over an existing
version.
CR 18594: Configuration.
If two primary circuits with compression share a backup pool and
one circuit is moved to a different pool, compression will not
work on the primary circuit that was not moved.
CR 18352: Compression.
You cannot initially add compression to a synchronous circuit that
you previously deleted. After you create the circuit, you can go
back in and add compression to it.
CR 15784: Configuration.
When you try to enable BOOTP on an unnumbered interface, you
receive an error message. To run BOOTP over unnumbered interfaces,
you must first select a preferred server.
CR 17159: Statistics.
The Site Manager statistics screen incorrectly displays the local
IP address instead of the remote tunnel IP address.
CR 18846: BNX-Switch.
ISDN is not supported in Site Manager BNX Version 5.0.
CR 17518: BNX-Switch.
If you bring up a local configuration with packet capture saved,
or you have done memory partitioning and saved the configuration,
you will receive a warning message.
No CR: IP.
Enhanced MAC address validation function on adjacent host "add"
and "list" window.
No CR: Image Builder.
Image Builder cannot read Version 8.12 image files.
CR 18844: Configuration.
Site Manager Help not available for OSPF Broadcast Type
interface.
CR 19083: Configuration.
PC-Site Manager experiences a General Protection Fault (GPF) when
selecting BGP from a configuration prior to Version 9.00.
CR 19080: Configuration.
When you attempt to edit (either on creation or later) the OSPF
General Group Record of a pre-9.00 configuration file, an
SNMP set error occurs and the record is not modified. This
condition occurs only on PC-Site Manager; UNIX-Site Manager works
properly with pre-9.00 configuration files.
CR 10982: Configuration.
The default value (and Value Entry window) for the Tr End Station
field indicates DISABLE, which is incorrect. According to the MIB
(wfIpInterfaceTrEndStation) description, the default value
should be ON/OFF.
CR 19153: Configuration.
Site Manager may incur a GPF error when editing an existing IP
interface on an X.25 service.
CR 15561: Source Routing Bridge.
A request has been made to add functionality to the Broadcast
Reduction features for NetBIOS. The Query Caching feature will
be enhanced to include Name Query¹s, in addition to Add Name
Query and Add Group Query, both of which are currently supported.
CR 16744: Source Routing Bridge.
Source Route Bridge packets that contain an information field
close to or equal to 4472 bytes will not be transmitted onto a
FDDI Ring and therefore will be dropped internally in the router.
This is due to the FDDI MTU byte size (4495 bytes), which does
not accommodate larger frames given Bay Networks¹ proprietary 8101
encapsulation scheme.
CR 19136: Configuration
When configuring Dial Backup on an MCE1 line, if the circuit type
is configured as a 'primary', WCP does not appear among the list
of protocol choices.
CR 18791: Configuration.
Site Manager experiences problems with bridge MAC address filters
in specific configurations that consist of more than 16 address
ranges.
CR None: IP.
Enhanced the maximum size of wfIpInterfaceFwdCacheSize from
2048 to 2147483647 and added Site Manager support for this
enhancement.
CR 19066: NetBoot.
Site Manager allows you to configure COM3 on an AN router configured
for a second Ethernet.
CR 19192: BGP.
When you create BGP4 Accept Policy filters or BGP4 Announce
Policy filters and you specify a Peer AS value greater than 256,
Site Manager generates a corrupt list with unwanted values. This
condition occurs only on PC-Site Manager.
CR None: Added mib_revision capability to the global hw_info structure.
CR 18254: Traps.
The Trap Configuration option in Site Manager does not allow
you to create entity traps for the following protocols: BGP4, DATA
COMP, DS1E1, MCT1, NBIP, NBASE, PCAP, and SDLC.
CR 19264: Statistics
After creating Dial Backup circuits in a router with an
MCT1 interface using Site Manager Version 2.11, an error occurs
when you attempt to launch the Statistics Manager on UNIX or PC
platforms.
CR None: Configuration.
Enhanced the connector values on the Netboot interfaces to support
new link modules for the AN router
CR 19216: Configuration.
When you attempt to upgrade to Site Manager Version 3.00 and you
open a Version 2.11 configuration file that was created
using Site Manager Version 2.10, a system message displays
indicating that Configuration Manager has detected missing
configuration parameters in local mode.
CR 18696: Sync.
Incorrect defaults and values appear in the Sync parameter fields
in Site Manager.
CR 18649: Image Builder.
If you remove the first four baseline software subcomponents from
the image while editing an LN router image using Image Builder,
the fourth subcomponent (dmap.exe) disappears from the
Current Components list but does not appear on the Available
Components list. If you then add the entire baseline software
components back into the image, dmap.exe never gets restored.
The resulting image file, therefore, is too small,
and a partial baseline component remains in the Available
Components list with nothing in it.
CR 18727: Image Builder.
When you open a BN image in Version 9.00 using
Image Builder and you select "change release" to change from
Version 9.00 to Version 8.00, a message appears
indicating that the Master Component file is invalid.
CR 19914: Image Builder.
When using the Image Builder tool in Site Manager, you cannot
create a new image (for example, Version 9.00) from the New
Image window with a previous version of the router software
(for example, 8.10).
CR 20122: BNX-Switch.
BNX Version 5.00 is missing the files that HP OpenView uses to
make the Wellfleet icons. This problem affects SPS, the BNX
network management tool.
Site Manager is missing the following files:
wellfleet.str
wfsm_ov.arf
wellfleet.20.m
wellfleet.20.p
wellfleet.26.m
wellfleet.26.p
wellfleet.32.m
wellfleet.32.p
wellfleet.38.m
wellfleet.38.p
wellfleet.44.m
wellfleet.44.p
wellfleet.50.m
wellfleet.50.p
CR 19699: Configuration.
When you edit a configuration that consists of more then 1000
static routes by selecting Protocols ->IP->Static Routes from
the Configuration Manager, Site Manager displays only up to 1000
configured static route entries.
CR None: Image Builder.
Image Builder could not read the new image stamp revision number.
CR 19408: Configuration.
If you are attempting to configure a circuit in dynamic mode and
you select the "Details..." option from the IP Configuration
window, the Configuration Manager faults. The workaround is to
finish creating the circuit, then use "Edit Circuits...", which
opens the Circuit Definition window. To edit the IP circuit
details, select Protocols->Edit IP->Interfaces.
CR 20288: Configuration.
If when you attempt to configure more than two NetBIOS static route
target servers on the same network and the target server name for
the first server is 200 and the second target server name is 210,
Site Manager generates the following system message:
"NetBIOS Source Route Entry already exists for this Target Network"
