Abstract

This release note for Extreme Networks IQ Engine version 10.8.5d outlines maintenance updates, resolved defects, known issues, and platform support for enterprise wireless access points managed through ExtremeCloud IQ 25.7.0 and later. The release introduces no new features or hardware support and focuses on corrective enhancements to stability, security, and system behavior across supported AP3000, AP4000, AP5000, and AP4060 series devices. Addressed issues include renewal of expiring TLS certificates for AP management HTTPS access, captive web portal failures due to PHP 8 compatibility defects, authentication process crashes under memory pressure, SNMPv3 configuration persistence issues after reboot, and multiple kernel panic conditions related to QoS processing, multicast handling, driver logging, and radio profile changes. Security improvements include strengthened Management Frame Protection against deauthentication attacks. Operational guidance highlights a known boot limitation when using unsupported micro‑USB console cables with a documented workaround. The document is intended for experienced network administrators and engineers responsible for deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of production wireless environments.
