Before you can configure SSH access on a device, you must first enable SSH Availability. To
do this, under your admin name at the top right of the ExtremeCloud IQ window,
select and enable the feature.
ExtremeCloud IQ provides a way to access devices remotely using the SSH protocol by
using an SSH proxy server.
Note
It is
important to remember that while SSH access is available, your device is exposed
to public access through an SSH proxy. The device is protected only by the
device administrator credentials, because SSH FTP assumes that it is run over a
secure channel.
Use this task to enable SSH on a device from the device
details panel., under .

Go to and select the host name of the AP in the Devices
list.

From the Device Details
left pane, select .

Under Additional
Settings, select SSH.

Under Run Time, select
the length of time that you want SSH to be available for the device.
ExtremeCloud IQ creates an SSH
session for the specified length of time between the SSH proxy server and the
device.

Select Enable SSH.
Provide assisting technicians
with the onscreen instructions and device log in credentials so they can open a
session from their external SSH client to the specified IP address and port
number of the proxy server.

When they are finished, select
Disable
SSH.
The SSH session remains active
for another minute or so and then automatically closes. If more time is
required, enable a new SSH session.
