HIQ allows Extreme Networks channel partners to provide fully managed enterprise-level wired and wireless services for multiple customers, from a single ExtremeCloud IQ instance. HHM can also be used for large corporate customers who need to manage the networks of different corporate entities separately; for example, different subsidiaries or regions.
HIQ is disabled by default. Enabling it does not require any special license or extra fees.
Note
Enabling HIQ is a permanent action and cannot be undone. It also deletes all backups of the VHM.To enable Hierarchical HiveManager and make yourself the HIQ administrator, toggle Enable HHM from OFF to ON, and then select Enable when prompted to confirm the action.
ExtremeCloud IQ logs you off and displays the HIQ login page.
After you log back in, you will see the normal ExtremeCloud IQ interface with two changes:
For more information about HIQ, see the Hierarchical HiveManager Configuration Guide.
Opt in or out of Comparative Analytics
With comparative analytics you can compare characteristics of your deployment with those of other similar deployments.
To participate in the Extreme Networks Comparative Analytics program, you must first opt in, which is the default condition. You can confirm that you are participating if the Opt-out of Comparative Analytics toggle is NO. (To opt out, toggle it to YES.)
24 hours after opting in, your VHM begins submitting normalized data to its local ExtremeCloud IQ, which gathers such data from various VHMs to create a large set of network measurements. After that, you can compare elements of your network with measurements submitted by other VHMs. These comparisons give you can insight into how some aspects of your deployment are functioning with respect to others. For more information about Comparative Analytics, see the Insights Comparative Analytics View.
