About User Profile URL Filtering

As described in Router URL Filtering Rule, you can assign one or more user profiles to each URL filtering rule. To simplify this process, you can enable URL filtering, create a URL filtering rule, and assign user profiles to the new filtering rule.

Add a New URL Filtering Detail Rule

  1. In the URL Filtering window, toggle URL Filtering Rules to ON, and then choose ADD to create a new rule, or Select to select an existing URL filtering rule.
  2. Enter a name and an optional description for the URL filtering rule, and then select ADD.
  3. In the New URL Filtering Detail Rule window, enter a name for the detail rule.
  4. Select the Whitelist subtab, and then either manually enter allowed HTTP URLs and select ADD for each one, or import a .csv formatted file of allowed and disallowed URLS as described in "Import CSV Data". The router examines allowed URLs first, disallowed URLs second, and categories third.
  5. In the New URL Filtering Detail Rule window, select the Categories subtab, and then select the categories to be blocked by this rule.
  6. When you are finished , select Save.

Import CSV Data

In the New URL Filtering Detail Rule window, you can also import a list of allowed or disallowed HTTP URLs in .csv files using the following formats:

cloud-whitelist1.aerohive.comcloud-w2.aerohive.comcloud-w3.aerohive.comcloud-w4.aerohive.comcloud-w5.aerohive.comcloud-w6.aerohive.com

cloud-blacklist1.aerohive.comcloud-b2.aerohive.comcloud-b4.aerohive.comcloud-b6.aerohive.com

Drag the .csv file to the Import box, or select Choose to browse for a .csv file.

Note

Note

Above the Import box, select the "this format" link, if required.

Select Open to import the .csv file. When you are finished making changes, select Save.
