Extreme Networks devices can apply QoS (Quality of Service) to traffic originating from members of user profiles to prioritize traffic by category. You can set rate limits and traffic forwarding rules for each traffic class.
You can set the maximum trafficforwarding rate and scheduling weight at two levels: for individual users in a user profile and for all users to whom the user profile applies. Through the rate control and queuing profile that you assign to user profiles, you define QoS policing rates and scheduling weights at the individual user level. In the QoS section in a user profile configuration, you define the rates and weights at the user profile level. Through the combined configuration of forwarding mechanisms and rate limits, you control how a device schedules traffic forwarding.
To configure QoS settings for a user profile, navigate to Configure > Common Objects > Policy > User Profiles. To add a new user profile, select . To add or modify QoS settings for an existing profile, either select the name of the profile in the list, or select the check box for the profile and select
. You can also clone an existing profile
and add, delete, or modify QoS settings for the clone.
