Define Vendor Option Definitions
About this task
Perform this procedure to define DHCP Server vendor options definitions.

Note
The switch follows inheritance and precedence rules for configured DHCP Server options.
The switch process the DHCP options in the following order of precedence:
- host—Host configuration applies only to a specific host.
- DHCP subnet—DHCP subnet options apply to only those clients within the specified subnet.
- vendor class—Vendor class options apply to only those clients with a string that matches a specified vendor class identifier (VCI).
- global—Global options apply to all clients.
DHCP Server builds a cumulative configuration from all scopes but applies precedence rules in instances of conflict.
Procedure
- In the navigation pane, expand .
- Select DHCP Server.
- Select the Global Vendor option Defines tab.
- Select Insert.
- In Id, type the integer from the unassigned range.
- In Type, select the data type for the vendor option.
- In Name, type a text label that identifies this option.
- Select Insert.
