Version 33.3.1 adds software support for measuring and reporting the inlet air temperature of a switch using an Extreme-supplied USB dongle temperature sensor. When the sensor is inserted, the temperature will be reported as follows:
# show temperature Field Replaceable Units Temp (C) Status Min Normal Max ------------------------------------------------------- --------- ------- --- ------- --- Switch : 5520-24W 68.38 Normal 0 10-100 110 Switch : Inlet Air 21.50
For switch models that support two USB ports, the sensor works in either port, but only one sensor will work at a time if two are plugged in. If two are installed and one is removed, the second one must be re-seated for the kernel/operating system to detect and use it.
4120, 5420, 5520, 5720, and 7520-48XT models.
The following commands are modified to show USB temperature sensor information:
show temperature
The following new EMS messages are added to report when the sensor is installed and removed:
#show log chronological match temperature <Info:HAL.Sys.USBTmpSnsrInstl> USB temperature sensor (FW-ESTSv1.0 HW-v1.3T) installed. Use 'show temperature' to display the inlet air temperature.
<Info:HAL.Sys.USBTmpSnsrRem> USB temperature sensor removed.
