Features and Updates

Feature Description
DHCP Client

DHCP Client simplifies out-of-the-box provisioning for either Managed Orchestration and Self-Orchestration deployments. When this feature is enabled, the appliance connects to a DHCP server that provisions the appliance dynamically with basic network settings to get the appliance connected to the network.

This feature is disabled by default, but you can turn the feature on when you run the Basic Configuration Wizard. Also note that to use DHCP Client, the appliance requires network access to a DHCP Server.

The following settings can be provisioned using DHCP:

  • IP address and subnet mask on data port
  • Default Gateway
  • DNS Server(s)
  • Hostname
  • Domain Name
  • NTP Server(s)
Engine Restart Options The Universal Compute Platform user interface now includes soft reboot and restart options that you can use to complete a graceful reboot or hard restart of any application engine that's running on the platform. From the Engines page, you can access the application engine status page, from which you can select either of the following options:
  • Soft Reboot—Select this option to initiate a graceful reboot of the engine. The engine saves its current state, and then reboots.
  • Restart—Select this option to initiate a hard restart where the engine restarts without saving its current state. Use this option only for stalled or non-responsive application engines.
ExtremeControl Support Universal Compute Platform now supports ExtremeControl as a Self-Orchestration application engine on the 3150C. The appliance supports up to two application instances of ExtremeControl.
PSConsole Support Universal Compute Platform now supports PSConsole as a Self-Orchestration application engine on 1130C, 2130C, and 3150C.
