The following information shows you how to add, replace, and remove bridge port extenders (BPEs) from cascades and rings Extended Edge Switching topologies.
If a BPE is added or removed by automatic or manual configuration in an existing ring, the cascade configuration changes such that the cascades are separated at the point at where the configuration was done. Saving the configuration makes these the configured cascades at system startup.
Important
When changing ring topologies, Extreme strongly recommends that you make wiring changes first, and then configuration changes. All procedures in this guide reflect this guideline.
