Considerations for SLX 9740 devices
IPV6 ACL based Egress Mirroring is not supported due to hardware limitations across all SPAN
types. Only four (4) hardware SPAN sessions are supported. Of the four (4) session, one
(1) is reserved for the session created by the legacy acl-mirror command.
These are the limitations for ERSPAN mirroring.
- In SLX 9740, if ingress and
egress ERSPAN mirroring is configured to same ERSPAN destination, then the
direction field in ERSPAN type 3 header will not have correct values for the
mirrored flow.
- ERSPAN ID cannot be set for
port based ERSPAN due to hardware limitations.
- For ingress mirroring, copying of VLAN and
COS field from original frame to ERSPAN type3 header of mirrored copy is
supported for flow based ERSPAN. It is not supported for Port based ERSPAN
and is a hardware limitation.
