Extreme Networks switches fit into standard 19-inch equipment racks.
The installation process includes the following tasks:

| 2 | Attach the Switch to a Rack or Cabinet | Mount the switch, or install the switch in the rack. |
| 3 | Install Expansion Modules | Install expansion modules, if the switch supports expansion modules. |
| 4 | Install Optional Components | Install optional components: optical transceivers and cables. |
| 5 | Install an Optional Modular Internal AC Power Supply | Install an optional modular AC power supply. |
| 6 | Connect the Switches to Form the Stack Ring | Connect stacking cables for a stacked configuration. |
| 7 | Connect Network Interface Cables | Connect network interface cables. |
| 8 | Turn on the Switch | Power up the switch. |
| 9 | Activate and Verify the Switch | Perform initial network connection and configuration. |
