Application Detection Rules
View, add, and delete an application detection rule for a custom application.
Navigate using the tab icons. Hover over an icon to see the name of the tab.
Configure > Applications > custom_application > application detection rules
As described in Custom Applications, each custom application can include one or more optional detection rules. You can view, add, edit, and delete application detection rules.
To see application detection rules for a custom application, select the custom application name in the table in the Configure > Applications window to display the Add Custom Application dialog box. Scroll down to see the detection rules that have been configured for this application.
To add a detection rule to a custom application, select the custom application name in the table.
Scroll down to the detection rules table. Select Add to add a new rule and enter the following information:
Select the rule Type: Host Name, Server IP Address, or Port Number
If you selected the Host Name Type, select the Protocol: HTTP or HTTPS
If you selected the Host Name Type, enter a valid Host Name
If you selected the Server IP Address Type, select the Protocol: TCP or UDP
If you selected the Server IP Address Type, enter a valid
Server IP Address
Note
You can enter an IPv4 or IPv6 address.If you selected the Server IP Address Type, enter a valid Port
If you selected the Port Number Type, select the Protocol: TCP or UDP
If you selected the Port Number Type, enter a valid Port
Select Add.
To delete a detection rule, select the custom application name in the table to display the Add Custom Application dialog box. Scroll down to the detection rules table. Select the check box for the rule you want to delete, and then select .
