Configure a Static DHCP Server Lease

Complete this procedure to reserve static DHCP options such as a specific IP address or TFTP boot file for a subnet host. Configure only the options that apply to your deployment.

About this task

The host configuration overrides conflicting configuration from the subnet or global DHCP Server. For any host configuration that you leave unconfigured, the host inherits the configuration from the subnet.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation pane, expand Configuration > IP.
  2. Select DHCP Server.
  3. Select the Hosts tab.
  4. Select Insert.
  5. Type the Subnet IP address and Subnet Mask.
  6. Type the host Mac Address.
  7. Configure the options to reserve for this host:
    • In IP, type the IPv4 address to reserve for this host.
    • In Name, type the hostname to assign to this host.
    • In TFTP Server IP, type the IPv4 address of the TFTP server that you want the host to use.
    • In TFTP Server Name, type the server name for the TFTP server that you want the host to use.

  8. Select Insert.
