Open Issues

The following are new open issues for supported features found in ExtremeXOS 31.1.

Table 1. Open Issues, Platform-Specific, and Feature Change Requests (CRs)
Defect Number Description
General
EXOS-27495

Cisco 7821 IP phones might not be able to auto-negotiate to 100Mbps when connected to 1G copper ports. Instead, the connection occurs at 10Mbps.

Workaround: Disable auto-negotiation on the switch and on the phone, and manually configure both sides to 100Mbps.

ExtremeSwitching 5520 Series Switches
EXOS-20496

For ExtremeSwitching 5520-12MW-36W switches, Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) does not function on multi-rate ports when their speed is at 100Mbps. There is no impact on traffic.

A warning message similar to the one below appears if you enable EEE on multi-rate ports:
Energy Efficient Ethernet will not function on port 37 when its speed is at 100Mbps.
EXOS-27728
Standalone ExtremeSwitching 5520 series switches should support 32 ports per load-sharing group. However, currently you cannot create load-sharing groups with more than 8 ports.
Note: This value is the maximum number of ports allowed in the aggregator. When you create an LACP LAG or when adding ports to it, twice the supported value is permitted in the load-sharing group to allow for standby ports.

Workaround: If more than 8 member ports are required, enable stacking.

EXOS-20143 On ExtremeSwitching 5520 series switches, slowpath IP traffic (packets with IP options, L3 miss packets) are forwarded without Diffserv DSCP replacement.
ExtremeSwitching X695 Series Switches
EXOS-19541 On ExtremeSwitching X695 series switches, Diffserv DSCP replacement does not work for slow path traffic.
EXOS-27583 When using the ExtremeSwitching 5520 series switch VIMs 5520-VIM-4XE and 5520-VIM-4YE, AVB is not supported unless MACsec is disabled on those ports.
EXOS-26507 On ExtremeSwitching 5520 series switch with a VIM plugged in, the HAL CPU utilization is always excessively high (~30%).
EXOS-27181 On ExtremeSwitching 5520 series switches, when using SFP+SR optics on QSFP28-to-SFP28 adapters, link issues might occur.
EVPN
EXOS-27265 Asymmetric routing traffic is not dropped after running the configure ip anycast mac none command when using VRRP MAC as Anycast MAC.
Extended Edge Switching
EXOS-27014

In Extended Edge Switching multiple MLAG cascaded topology, auto-configuration is not bringing up all the slots.

Workaround: Configure bridge port extenders (BPEs) manually, and disable auto-configuration.

MACsec
EXOS-26929 Link bounce occurs with oversubscribed traffic with random packet sizes when link speed is set to 100M.
NTP/SNTP
EXOS-26857 With Domain Name System (DNS) Security Extension enabled, SNTP is automatically enabled, and after disabling SNTP, and enabling NTP, SNTP is added to the switch configuration after a save and reboot.
PoE
EXOS-27571 The ExtremeSwitching 5520 series switches PoE power budget limits have been reduced for the following PSU configurations:
  • 5520-24W: 2 × 1100W PSUs—PoE budget is reduced from 1,800W to 1,781W
  • 5520-48W: 2 × 2000W PSUs (200–240VAC)—PoE budget is reduced from 3,600W to 3,568W
  • 5520-48W: 2 × 1100W PSUs—PoE budget is reduced from 1,800W to 1,770W
  • 5520-12MW-36W: 2 × 2000W PSUs (200–240VAC)—PoE budget is reduced from 3,600W to 3,549W
  • 5520-12MW-36W: 2 × 1100W PSUs—PoE budget is reduced from 1,800W to 1,751W
ExtremeXOS 31.1 enforces the previous limits. The new limits will be implemented in ExtremeXOS 31.2.

Workaround: If you are using PoE on ExtremeSwitching 5520 series switches with ExtremeXOS 31.1, consider the above revised budget limits when deploying PoE powered devices.

SummitStacking
EXOS-27573 Re-convergence time on an ExtremeSwitching X465 stack has increased from ~50 msec in ExtremeXOS 30.7 to greater than 3 seconds in 31.1.
