ExtremeCloud IQ Virtual Appliance
Install and configure a IQ Virtual Appliance .
IQ Virtual Appliance is a deployment option for the Extreme Networks next-generation, enterprise-class, cloud-enabled network management solution. Instead of being housed in the Extreme Networks Cloud Services Platform, customers have the ability to deploy the IQ Virtual Appliance on company premises as a single virtual machine. The NMS features are essentially the same as ExtremeCloud IQ, but with the added installation and administration features specific to a virtual appliance deployment. This type of deployment allows greater control over customer data, improves data transfer performance, eases management, and offers more flexibility for customization of hardware and software components.

Note
You can also use the current entitlement key for your HM Classic virtual appliance license.
Note
To ensure availability of IQ Virtual Appliance, always configure it with a static IP address. Before continuing, ensure that your DNS server is correctly mapping the host name to the IP address, and the IP address to the host name. To do so from a Windows workstation, open the Command Prompt, and then enter the following commands:
> nslookup host_name
If the console does not return the IP address of the IQ Virtual Appliance, then either the host name you entered is incorrect or the DNS server is not mapping properly.
> nslookup ip_address
If the console does not return the host name of the IQ Virtual Appliance, then either the IP address you entered is incorrect or the DNS server is not mapping properly.
After hardware and software installation for the IQ Virtual Appliance is complete, log in to the system and perform the following workflow setup steps:
