Use this procedure to configure Universal Compute Platform as an SNMP
agent. You can use SNMP to monitor the system using a Network Management Station
(NMS) server.
Universal Compute Platform supports SNMPv2c and SNMPv3. Unless
stated otherwise, all steps apply to both SNMP versions.

Select the SNMP tab.

Select the SNMP Version.
- If you selected SNMPv2c, the SNMP configuration includes two default
SNMP communities. You can use the defaults, or reconfigure them.
- If you selected SNMPv3, the configuration displays an autogenerated
Engine ID
value. You can use the default or assign a new ID value.

(SNMPv3 only). Enter a Context String.

(SNMP v3only). Configure SNMP Users:

Select Add User.

Enter a Name for the
user.

Select a Security level:
- Authentication, Privacy
- Authentication, No Privacy
- No Authentication, No Privacy

If you selected authentication, select an
Auth Type
and enter an Auth
Password.

If you selected privacy, select a
Privacy
Type and enter a Privacy
Password.

Select Save.

Repeat these substeps if you want to add
another user.

Configure up to two SNMP notifications:

Select Add
Notification.

Enter a Name for the
notification.

For Server Address, enter
the IP address of the NMS server.

For Server Port, enter the receiving port on the
NMS server.

Select Save.

Repeat these substeps if you want to add
another notification.

From the Forward Traps tab, select the
severity threshold for the sending of SNMP messages to the NMS server.
- Select Submit.
