nsight-policy (global-config-mode)

Creates an NSight policy and enters its configuration mode. The NSight policy identifies the server host designated to receive periodic stats, configuration details, event logs, etc. from controllers, virtual controllers, and RF Domain managers within the WiNG-managed network.
Apply the NSight policy in the following contexts:
  • RF Domain - This allows the RF Domain manager to post periodic-stats (polled from APs within the RF Domain) to the NSight server. The RF Domain manager also reports changes in operational parameters of APs within the RF Domain.
  • Self of the WiNG controller or virtual controller (VC) - This allows the controller to post configuration information, such as RF Domains, location hierarchy, WLANs, devices seen and event-logs to the NSight server.

Extreme NSight as a separate target was introduced in WiNG 5.9.3. For WiNG-managed networks using WiNG 5.9.3 or later firmware versions, the NSight server is hosted on an external VM appliance. Use the server parameter to point to the NSight server host.

The WiNG 7.3.1 devices can connect to and post data to the ExtremeCloud IQ server. Use the server parameter to point to the ExtremeCloud IQ server host.
