The ExtremeSwitching 5720 series switch introduces a new notation for channelized ports. Previous channelized Universal ports (U1) mapped to unique numbers (49, 50, 51, 52). For the 5720 series switch, each channelized port receives a specified channelized number. See the following table for examples using a 48-port 5720 model.
The slot:port column applies to 5720 switches in a stack, or if the configure system ports notation slot:port command has been issued. The port column applies in all other instances.

Note
5720 VIM-6YE ports are not channelized and map to ports 51-53 and 54-56.Note
Switches running Release 31.6 or earlier that are connected to a channelized 5720 port will not display the correct port number via the Extreme Discovery Protocol. The port numbers will display correctly via the Link Layer Discovery Protocol. This feature is supported on the ExtremeSwitching 5720 series switch.
