configure pim {ipv4 | ipv6} timer hello_interval jp_interval [{vlan} vlan_name | vlan all]

Description

Configures the global PIM timers on the specified router interfaces.

Syntax Description

ipv4 Specifies the IPv4 address family.
ipv6 Specifies the IPv6 address family.
hello_interval Specifies the amount of time before a hello message is sent out by the PIM router. The range is 1–65,535 seconds.
jp_interval Specifies the join/prune interval. The range is 1–65,535 seconds.

Usage Guidelines

These default timers should only be adjusted when excess PIM control packets are observed on the interface.

The following example configures the PIM timers on the VLAN accounting:
