Add a Floor

Your network hierarchy must contain at least one building before you can add floors.

Perform the following steps to add a floor to a building.
  1. Go to Manage > Planning > Global View, and select Add.

Alternatively, double-click the name of a building, or select Add Floor above the corresponding building map.

  2. Select the Floor tab, and enter a name for the new floor.
  3. From the Associated With menu, select a building.
  4. If the floor uses 6 GHz standard power, select Enable 6 GHz.
  5. From the Environment menu, choose the environment type that most closely matches your installation.
  6. From the Floor Attenuation menu, select the noise level of the floor.
  7. Enter the Height Above Ground and Accuracy Range.
    Note

    Note

Available only if Enable 6 GHz is set to on.
  8. Enter the installation height (the distance from floor to ceiling) and accuracy range of the APs on the floor.
If the height varies from AP to AP, enter the average height. This setting has a minimal effect on location estimates except for sites such as warehouses where the height of ceilings or high crossbeams is substantial.
    Note

    Note

Accuracy Range is available only if Enable 6 GHz is set to on.
  9. Enter the dimensions of the floor plan.
  10. Upload a background image of a floor plan from the drop-down list, or use the drawing tools to draw a floor plan.
  11. To scale the map for imported images, select the gear icon, and then select Rescale Plan.
  12. Enter dimensions, or size the image manually by moving the red cross hairs to the end points of a known distance, such as a standard doorway.
  13. Enter the known distance and select Apply.
  14. Select SAVE.
