LAG Configuration Summary

CE1000, CE2000, and CE3000 deployments of ExtremeCloud IQ Controller support the use of Link Aggregation (LAG) for the data ports. LAG interfaces increase link throughput and provide redundancy in case of a link failure.

To deploy the feature, you must first configure LACP LAG on the Universal Compute Platform host and on the switch that connects to the host's LAG ports. This setup establishes the aggregated link on the physical layer.

To complete the setup, configure static LAG on ExtremeCloud IQ Controller using the same port members as the Universal Compute Platform host. ExtremeCloud IQ Controller's static LAG configuration runs on the aggregated link that is managed from the LACP LAG configuration on the physical layer.

CE1000, CE2000, and CE3000 support static LAG only. Universal Compute Platform supports LACP LAG only.

To configure LAG for a CE deployment, complete the configuration in the following table.

  • On the Universal Compute Platform host, configure LACP LAG.
  • On the connected switch, configure LACP LAG using only the ports that connect directly to the host's LAG interface. Also, set the LACP timer to 30 seconds.

  • Make sure that the LAG configuration on Universal Compute Platform is saved before you configure LAG on ExtremeCloud IQ Controller.
