Introduction to the NPB Application
The Extreme 9920 device runs an operating system (TierraOS) that runs one or more applications. This version of
the Extreme 9920 software has one application (NPB application).
The
NPB application provides network packet broker functions:
- Aggregate, inspect, and classify
network traffic from ingress ports
- Process network traffic according
to policies
- Forward traffic to analytic
applications
