Note
Half-duplex is not supported on the multi-rate ports of the ExtremeSwitching 5520-12MW-36W swithces. Half-duplex is supported on the copper ports of 48T/W and 24T/W switches at 10/100Mbps, but not at 1000Mbps.The ExtremeSwitching 5520 series switches can run two different network operating systems: ExtremeXOS (default) or VOSS. When you power up the switch for the first time, you must select an operating system.

The ExtremeSwitching 5520 series switches provide the Base License as standard. Optionally you can purchase a Premier license, which adds additional functionality.

For ExtremeSwitching 5520 series switches, the BootROM image is packaged in the ExtremeXOS .xos image file.
When running the command install bootrom {from-exos} [fname | local-file] {reboot} {slot slotid}, the from-exos option specifies using the BootROM version packaged with the ExtremeXOS image. You do not need to specify a file name.
