ExtremeSwitching SLX 9150 Hardware Installation Guide

The ExtremeSwitching SLX 9150 Series switches offer a versatile and efficient core/aggregation switching functionality for both campus and data center environments. The SLX 9150 Series switches run on the SLX-OS operating system.

The SLX 9150 Switch Series comes in two flavors:

SLX 9150-48Y
- 48 1/10/25GbE SFP28 ports
- 8 10/40/100GbE QSFP28 ports
SLX 9150-48XT
- 48 1/10GbE 10GBASE-T ports
- 6 10/40/100GbE QSFP28 ports

The SLX 9150 Series switches include the following hardware features.

The front panel of the SLX 9150-48Y Switch includes:

48 10/25-gigabit Ethernet ports capable of supporting passive copper SFP28 and active fiber SFP28.
8 100-gigabit Ethernet ports capable of supporting passive copper QSFP28 and active fiber QSFP28. These ports are configurable for 100Gb and 40 Gb modes. For information about SFP28 and QSFP28 optical modules, see the Transceivers section of the Hardware Installation Guide.
Note

Data Ports 55 and 56 are reserved.
RJ45 serial console port used to connect a terminal and perform local management.
USB port for access to external storage.
RJ45 out-of-band 10/100/1000BASE-T management Ethernet port.
LEDs to indicate port status and switch operating conditions. For a description of the LEDs and their operation, refer to the SLX 9150 Series Switch LEDs section of the guide.

The rear panel of both SLX 9150-48XT and SLX 9150-48Y switches include:

Two power supply bays for 750 W AC or DC power supplies.
Six bays for replaceable fan modules.
Note
The color of the tab on the fan tray indicates the airflow direction:
- Red: front-to-back
- Blue: back-to-front
The operating-system software cannot display the airflow direction.
