Configure Options on an IPv6 PIM Interface

When IPv6 PIM is enabled globally, you can configure several PIM options for the interface.

Perform all Layer 3 configuration for VLANs, bridge domains, and link aggregation groups under their respective Layer 3-level interfaces.
  1. Enter global configuration mode.
    device# configure terminal
  2. Enter device configuration mode.
    device(config)# interface ve 30
  3. Run the following commands as needed.

    1. Enable IPv6 PIM on an interface.
      device(config-if-ve-30)# ipv6 pim-sparse
      
    2. Specify the designated router (DR) priority of an IPv6 PIM interface.
      device(config-if-ve-30)# ipv6 pim dr-priority 100
    3. Configure the Time to Live (TTL) threshold for an IPv6 PIM interface.
      device(config-if-ve-30)# ipv6 pim ttl-threshold 64
