Power Supplies for Use with Your Switch

The 4120 Series switch contains a fixed internal AC power supply that supplies the power needed for switch operations and basic POE power budget. The 4120-24MW-4Y model switch contains an 860W internal AC power supply, while the 4120-48MW-4Y model switch contains a 1200W internal AC power supply. An optional replaceable AC power supply can be added to protect against a power supply failure and a higher POE power budget. See Max PoE Power Budget for more information. The replaceable power supplies are hot-swappable; you can add or remove the power supply without interrupting switch operations.

Note

AC power input cords are not provided with AC power supplies. You can order an appropriate cord from Extreme Networks or from your local supplier. The power cord must meet the requirements listed in Select Power Supply Cords.

The following replaceable AC power supplies with front-to-back airflow are available for the 4120 Series switches:

• The 920W modular AC power supply (part no. XN-ACPWR-920W-FB-U) is only supported on model 4120-24MW-4Y.
• The 1200W AC power supply (part no. XN-ACPWR-1200W-FB-U) is supported on both models 4120-24MW-4Y and 4120-48MW-4Y.
• The 2000W AC power supply (part no. XN-ACPWR-2000W-FB-U) is only supported on model 4120-48MW-4Y.
