Configuring the C5215 System

Before you begin configuration:

  • Research the type of WLAN deployment that is required. For example, SSIDs, security requirements, and filter policies.
  • Prepare the network. Ensure that optional external servers (for example, DHCP and RADIUS servers) are available and appropriately configured.
  1. Using the Extreme Networks Wireless Assistant, configure the IP addresses of the appliance‘s data ports (esa0–esa3).
    1. Configure the default IP addresses to be the relevant subnet point of attachment to the existing network, and set up the routing protocol table.
    2. Configure the data ports to be on separate VLANs.
    3. To manage the appliance through the interface, select the Mgmt checkbox on the Interfaces tab.
  2. Select the country and time zone, then restart the appliance.
  3. Install the appliance license and confirm the latest firmware version is loaded.
  4. Configure the VNS.
