New Hardware Supported in ExtremeXOS 22.2

This section lists the new hardware supported in ExtremeXOS 22.2:
  • ExtremeSwitching X870 series switches:

    X870-32c and X870-96x-8c

    Caution

    Caution

There are two significant issues regarding diagnostics on the ExtremeSwitching X870 series switches (xos0068048):

    • Some switches may be missing the diagnostics image. If so, the following error message appears:
Summit diagnostics xmod is not installed. Please install the diagnostics xmod in order to run diagnostics.
    • If the diagnostic image is present, i2cenviron test consistently fails while running diagnostics.

Fixing this problem requires installing the onie-22.2.1.5-patch1-4-diagnostics.xmod file to both partitions.

    Note

    Note

ExtremeSwitching X870-96x-8c switches require a license to upgrade the QSFP28+ ports 1 through 24 from 10G to 100G. For more information, see the ExtremeXOS 22.2 Feature License Requirements.
  • ExtremeSwitching X620 series switches:

    X620-16p (includes PoE++ capability, and additional 2.5G, 5G speeds)

  • Summit X460-G2 series switches:

    X460-G2-16mp-32p-10GE4 (additional 2.5G speed)

    X460-G2-24p-24hp-10GE4, X460-G2-24t-24ht-10GE4 (half-duplex capability)

    Note

    Note

On Summit X460-G2-24p-24hp-10GE4 and X460-G2-24t-24ht-10GE4 models, data collision can occur on the half-duplex ports (faceplate ports 25–48), but the switch has no way of detecting these collisions. The half-duplex ports isolate the external ports from the internal ports to the MAC. The internal links are always operating in full-duplex mode, so the concept of a collision does not even exist in this context. Therefore, the MAC never detects anything to count, since the collisions are occurring on the far side links of the PHY.
