Add a Port

Use this optional procedure to configure the port interface on one of the Universal Compute Platform data ports. You can use this configuration to set up a VRRP IP alias on the port.
Note

Note

Some container applications require you to configure a VRRP IP alias on one of the Universal Compute Platform data ports. The same VRRP address can be assigned to the data port on Universal Compute Platform, and to the engine application to provide an IP address that lets you access the application's management interface using a web browser.

To add a new port interface, take the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Administration > System > Network Setup.
  2. From the Interfaces pane, select Add New Interface.
  3. Enter a Name and IP Address for the port interface.
  4. Configure the additional fields in the Port settings window. For help with the fields and their settings, see Create New Interface Settings.
  5. Optional. To create an interface alias using VRRP, do the following:
    1. Under VRRP, select Add.
    2. Enter the VRRP Address along with optional Comments.
    3. To add additional addresses, repeat the previous two substeps.
You can add up to 10 VRRP addresses on a single data port. To delete an address, select the adjacent icon.
    4. Enter a Priority and Router ID that applies to the VRRP configuration on this port.
  6. Select Save.
Note

Note

Later on, when you install the application engine, complete the IP alias configuration by assigning the same VRRP address to the Assigned Virtual IP Address field for the application.
