Interface Manager Service

Interface Manager Service in TierraOS is responsible for configuring and monitoring Ethernet Interfaces on the Switch. TierraOS is built on Stratum which provides a forwarding device or silicon agnostic API for managing the data plane, interfaces/ports, and other platform elements. Interface Manager interacts with Stratum for interface management.

Interface Manager Service provides the following features:

• Processing platform notifications (chassis ready, line card insertion or deletion)
• Publishing interface creation, deletion, or state-change notifications to clients
• Processing interface config notifications from management services
• Interacting with Stratum through gNMI APIs to monitor and configure physical ports or interfaces.
• Configuring management interface with IP address and IP gateway.
  

  Note

  Management interface supports only IPv4 address configuration.
