MAC Movement Detection and Resolution is a new and improved mechanism to prevent loop detection
in networks. This feature has advantages over the existing Extreme proprietary Loop
Detection feature.
Note
- Repeated MAC Movement Detection and Resolution will work for
switch-port.
- Loop detection using MAC Movement Detection is mutually exclusive of STP and
ELD protocol operations.
- MAC Movement Detection is not considered for a port where port-security is
enabled and a restrict violation action is triggered.
