Layer 3 VPN Configuration Overview

To configure VR and VRF support for a Layer 3 VPN, do the following:

Configure the PE to PE interfaces as follows:
1. Select the VR that to which the MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) protocol will be added.
2. Assign PE facing VLANs and ports to the VR.
Configure the PE to CE interface as follows:
1. Create a VPN VRF as described in Creating and Deleting VRFs.
2. Assign a VPN ID to the VPN VRF as described in Configuring a VPN ID.
3. Assign an RD to the VPN VRF as described in Configuring the Route Distinquisher.
4. Configure RTs for the VPN VRF as described in Configuring Route Targets.
5. Assign CE facing VLANs and ports to the VRF.
6. Configure BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) as described in Configuration Overview.
