After the Fabric Attach proxy receives a Fabric Attach Element TLV from in an LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) frame from a Fabric Attach server, the Fabric Attach Element TLV is included in all LLDP frames sent by the Fabric Attach proxy. The Fabric Attach Assignment TLV is included in LLDP frames to the Fabric Attach server if any VLAN to NSI mappings exist. The Fabric Attach Assignment TLV is included in LLDP frames sent to a Fabric Attach client if that client has requested at least one VLAN to NSI mapping. Mappings that are rejected by the server are placed in the “rejected” state in the LLDP database and remain in the database until they expire.
