Two 1600 W DC power supply options, with front-to-back or back-to-front airflow, are available for Extreme 8820.
The Extreme 8820-40C supports up to two power supplies, which provides (1+1) hot-swappable, redundant load sharing. The Extreme 8820-80C supports up to four power supplies, which provides (2+2) hot-swappable, redundant load sharing.
Note
If the Extreme 8820-80C is configured with two AC power supplies and two DC power supplies, and one AC power supply faults, neither DC power supply is activated. If the one AC power supply does not provide enough power for the switch, the switch shuts down. Manual intervention is required.The following table describes the power supply behavior based on fault conditions, when two AC and two DC power supplies are installed.
