AirDefense Essentials Configuration

  1. Go to Configure > Sites and select the target site.
  2. Select Device Groups and select the target device group.
  3. Select next to the profile to edit it.
  4. Select the Air Defense tab.
  5. Select the Enable AirDefense Essentials check box.

  6. Select Save.

    For AP4020/X/FX and AP4060/X, this step enables the dedicated sensor on Radio 4 to support AirDefense Essentials and completes this procedure. For other eligible AP models, proceed to the next step.

  7. Select the Radios tab.
  8. Under Mode, select Sensor.
    See Understand Radio Mode for details about sensor radios for individual AP models.

  9. Select Save.

  • Use manual classification​.
  • Use the BSS screen in location as a complement to security.
  • Termination continues until the AP reboots.
  • Shared Sensing needs a client serving SSID enabled.
