Firmware images are bundled with ExtremeXOS software images. The bundled firmware images include system FPGA and PLD images. When you download and install a new version of ExtremeXOS, ExtremeXOS automatically compares the existing firmware image against the firmware images bundled with the ExtremeXOS image, and prompts to install the firmware if there is a new version. If the firmware install is skipped during an ExtremeXOS install, firmware can be installed later by following the procedure below using the install firmware command.
After a firmware image upgrade, messages are sent to the log.
To view the current firmware version, use the show version detail command:
# show version detail Switch : 800906-00-02 1907F-10042 Rev 02 IMG: 30.2.0.34 FPGA: 1.1.34 CPLD: 1.1.13 Image : ExtremeXOS version 30.2.0.34 by release-manager on Wed Mar 27 20:36:16 EDT 2019 Diagnostics : 1.1.6 Certified Version : EXOS Linux 4.14.107, FIPS fips-ecp-2.0.16 Build Tools Version : exos-x32-sdk-2.5.1.1.3
If the bundled firmware image is newer than the existing firmware image, the switch prompts you to confirm the upgrade.
